Painting is seeing with more than the eyes.  It is allowing the emotions stirred by a particular moment to be expressed on paper  - reaching within to find the best in a location or moment.  I begin trying to capture the mood or feeling a scene evokes in me and usually find myself surrendering to the painting.  Hopefully the painting finds it’s own life and allows me to reveal that vitality on paper.
